Things To Do: Martin Luther King Jr. Week

Starting Friday, Jan. 13, Louisville will host a series of events in honor and remembrance of Rev. Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.

Cathedral of the Assumption

The Cathedral of the Assumption will be hosting the 32nd Annual Community-Wide Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Celebration on Saturday, Jan. 14.

Kentucky Center for the Arts

The Kentucky Center for the Arts will hold a community arts celebration “Keepers of the Dream” for Dr. King on Sunday, Jan. 15.

Muhammad Ali Center
144 N 6th St, Louisville, Ky. 40202
The Muhammad Ali Center will have its annual showing of the “I Have a Dream” speech. The Muhammad Ali Center will also be celebrating Muhammad Ali’s 75th birthday with a limited time special exhibit. A service project will take place in honor of his name. The tribute exhibit will showcase unique, creative art inspired by Muhammad Ali. From Jan. 14-15, there will be film screenings honoring Muhammad Ali’s life and legacy.

Newburg Middle School

Newburg Middle School will host the 20th Annual Martin Luther King, Jr. Brunch: Keeping the Dream Alive on Saturday, Jan. 14.

University of Louisville

UofL will be hosting events all week to honor Dr. King’s life and educate the community on his ideas. Events include the Louisville Bus Civil Rights Tour, MLK Service Day and a MLK Dream Wall Signing.
