Manual experiences low attendance, tightened security after anonymous threat

All JCPS schools operated under Level Three building security on Friday, Jan. 8 due to an anonymous threat to unnamed local schools. Student attendance was down across the district, with Manual High School reporting a 69.74% attendance rate. At the end of the day, JCPS indicated than 45.5% of students across the district were in school Friday, less than half of the 93.6% average rate of attendance.

Hear students and faculty reflect on what differences they experienced Friday due to the threat, and stay tuned to RedEye for further updates.
