It is a custom for the French to people make crêpes for Candlemas, a holiday in early February. Ms. Farman’s French classes celebrated the day by making crêpes and learning more about French culture.
Madame Farman explains to the class the story behind the crpe. Two frying pans with oil, which is heating up in order to cook the crpes. Madame Farman made the first two crpes herself, so that she could demonstrate to the class how the crpes were made. Olivia Doyon (11) searches for a coin i her purse. In France, one must hold a coin in their hands as they flip the crpe, in order to make a wish. Carolin Folz (10) prepares her crpe with Nutella and strawberries. Madame Farman pours batter into the pans, as Adam McIntyre (11) and Nadia Almasalkhi (10) get ready to make them. Grace McDaniel (11) and Olivia Doyon flip their crpes and make a wish.
