Today’s Tech: CES 2012

by at January 19th, 2012 9:50 PM

The Consumer Electronics Show 2012, held in Las Vegas, Nevada, proved to be an amazing event for future tech yet again. From giant OLED TVs, to the all-new Windows Phone OS, CES left us with lots to dream about. Companies like Samsung, Sony, and Dell came to showcase some really neat gadgets. Ranging from operating systems to new ultrabooks, here’s a couple of my favorite devices at CES 2012:

Lenovo IdeaPad Yoga:
The most interesting/appealing ultrabook to me was definitely the Lenovo IdeaPad Yoga. It’s an overall sharp looking machine, has amazing laptop/tablet functionality, and spec-wise is really high in the charts. The Yoga comes with a 1600×900 IPS display, 256GB SSD, Ivy Bridge i7 processor, and a customizable RAM size all for about $1199.99. It’s an insanely good deal for the features you are getting.

Nokia Lumina 900:
Nokia gots lots of attention this year for it’s newest phone running WP7, the Lumina 900. Now granted, everyone’s probably already seen leaked photos of the 900 (I wonder how) and even some specs, but seeing the actual device at CES showed a lot about the all new phone. Though it’s almost similar to the Lumina 800, the 900 comes with a 4.3-inch AMOLED display, 8-megapixel camera, and support for AT&T’s new LTE network.

Transformer Prime TF700T:
The Prime was definitely one of my most favorite tablets at CES this year. The sleek, aluminum design makes it looks very appealing as well as the internal features. It comes with a 10.1-inch 1,920 x 1,200 resolution, 1.3GHz quad-core Tegra 3, 8MP rear camera with 2MP front-facing cam, and even with 32GB/64GB internal storage. Ice Cream Sandwich (Google’s newest update to their Android OS) also comes with the tablet pre-loaded.
