On Sunday, September 11, Louisville local Tamara Dearing and her two band mates, Dustan Barun (her husband) and Meg Sambles, played at the Mellwood Art Fair.
This local band has only been together for about a year and is already working on its third album.
Dearing has been playing music since she was seven years old, but just this past year joined with Barun and Sambles to form her solo act into a trio.
Dearing classified the group’s music as “indie art pop.” “I draw inspiration for my songs from life experiences, nature, friends, family… everything, really,” Dearing said.
“It’s hard to put a label on our music,” Barun said. “It’s all original. Tamara writes everything.”
Sarah Zellers was one of many who stopped by to listen to Dearing at the art fair. “[I] love their music,” Zellers said. “[I] just bought their CD.”
The group’s next performance is October 24 at 8 p.m. at the 21c Museum Hotel.
Tamara Dearing can be followed on Facebook and Twitter, and her albums are for sale on iTunes.
