Things to Do

Friday

The Louisville Science Center is open all weekend with its special Star Trek exhibit, as well as with its permanent exhibits. The Star Trek exhibit includes sets and costumes. General admission covers both permanent and temporary exhibits for $18. The Science Center is open 9:30-9:00 Fri. and Sat., and 9:30-5:00 Sun.

The Speed Art Museum is providing free admission to all on Friday night because it’s the first Friday of the month. This free admission applies to permanent exhibits, as well as the area geared toward small children. Admission is free from 5:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m.

The Market Street & Main Street area of downtown is having a free trolley hop on Friday from 5:00 p.m. to 11:00 p.m. Many art galleries will be open,  snacks will be available. Trolleys will run for free, and may be boarded from any trolley stop.

Saturday

Bernheim Forest, in its new Forest Forays series, is leading two activities on Saturday. The first, from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00, is about winter plants. The second, from 1:00 to 3:00 p.m., is about “raptors” (birds of prey). The cost is $25 for members and $35 for non-members. The events meet in Berheim’s Bean House.

Glassworks is open from 10:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. on Saturdays. Guided tours for students are $4.50, and Glassworks is currently hosting a workshop during Saturday open hours in which customers may make a heart-shaped stained glass project. It costs $35 to make one heart. Call (502) 992-3272 for more information.

Have a good weekend!
